Cedar Hill firefighters warn against Amazon solar eclipse glasses

(Farmington) If you're wanting to watch the solar eclipse on August 21st, astronomers are warning viewers to make sure the special eclipse viewing glasses you use are legitimate. Pairs with an ISO number of 12312-2.

The Great American Eclipse, the first solar eclipse visible in all of America since 1979, is coming up fast.

Amazon appears to have been cracking down on these suspect glasses. Call ahead to ensure they still have glasses.

Another Portland resident, Will Clark, bought eclipse glasses billed as "CE and ISO tested, safe solar viewing".

Library hours are from 10 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

"I give up", she tweeted.

An Amazon spokesperson said Amazon is responding "out of an abundance of caution".

If you received this email from Amazon, there are other places to purchase eclipse glasses.

Anyone who is concerned about their eclipse glasses but did not receive an email about the recall can reach out to Amazon customer service for a refund.

"The only way to safely look at the Sun when it is not in total eclipse is through approved filter material designed and marketed expressly for direct solar viewing". The notification also says that customers don't need to return the glasses in order to get a refund.
