Cowboys Lose 2nd Preseason Game 13-10 in Los Angeles

Elliott wrote on Twitter that he strongly disagreed with the NFL's decision.

The disapproval, in a nutshell: Goodell's office essentially called Elliott a "woman-beater" - one of the most damning labels that can be tagged to a person - and did so based on less-than-definitive evidence.

Now, the New York Giants catch a break in not having to face Elliott in the first game of the season. It's within his CBA-dictated power to go beyond that, but that doesn't mean his league partners have to agree with it.

The 22-year-old Elliott has three days to appeal the ruling.

Multiple reports emerged early Friday indicating that there is a very real chance that Elliott will face a six-game suspension for his conduct when word comes down from the National Football League offices.

The spread for the Cowboys at Rams preseason game is set at Dallas -3 by sports book Bovada.lv, while the over-under is 37.5.

"The NFL's findings are replete with factual inaccuracies and erroneous conclusions and it "cherry picks" so-called evidence to support its conclusion while ignoring other critical evidence".

While there were 16 suspensions, it is 13 players because Randy Gregory has received two suspensions for a total of 30 games, and Rolando McClain three for a total of 30.

Elliott's suspension stems from domestic violence allegations made against him a year ago in Ohio.

"Mr. Elliott and his team of representatives are extremely disappointed with the NFL's decision", Elliott's lawyers said.

Elliott's appeal is expected to be submitted Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Elliott is appealing the suspension but can still participate in all preseason activities.

"Certainly these situations are never easy", Witten said.

Morris said last month in Oxnard that he and McFadden were preparing as if they were going to play significant roles in the offense. Aaron Donald, who is a holdout due to contract issues, also did not play for the Rams. I would also look at a strategy of snagging a top RB in the first and a solid performing WR in the 2nd before making the leap for Elliott and McFadden. But while Jones hasn't spoken publicly since Elliott was suspended, his son took a more measured approach.

The second-year running back is coming off a sensational rookie season in which he rushed for a Cowboys-rookie-record 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns en route to his first career Pro Bowl selection.
