In recent weeks, occupation authorities also arrested the father, mother and three brothers of the 19-year-old attacker, Omar al-Abed, according to villagers.

Later in July, the Israeli military raided and closed off the village.

Israeli authorities arrested Abed's mother, Ibtisam al-Abed last month for allegedly praising the attack, which the forces called "incitement to violence"; she was then released.

In an interview with a separate TV station, Karram said, "As a Palestinian journalist in an occupied area or in a conflict zone, media work is an integral part of the resistance and its educational political activity".

The move comes a day after Israel's military prosecutor announced that the state would charge five family members of the 19-year-old alleged attacker, Omar al-Abed, who is now in custody in Israel.

Local Palestinians rioted as security forces destroyed the home on Wednesday morning in the village of Kobar.

The Israeli army said the attacker had spoken of al-Aqsa and of dying as a "martyr" in a Facebook post. He was shot while carrying out the attack and later arrested.

The Halamish terror attack came on the heels of a Palestinian-incited "day of rage", in which violent Muslim riots erupted in response to the installation of metal detectors at the entrance gates to Jerusalem's Temple Mount.

More than a dozen Palestinians have been killed in the ensuing tensions. The crisis abated when Israel removed the detectors.

Central to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the compound is located in east Jerusalem, occupied by Israel in 1967 and later annexed in a move never recognized by the global community.

Tel Aviv's forces have flattened a house near the city of Ramallah in the West Bank, which belonged to a Palestinian youth accused by the regime of being behind a deadly stabbing attack against Israeli settlers. However, human rights groups say it amounts to collective punishment, with family members forced to suffer for the acts of relatives.
