Amit Shah's visit has rattled Congress leaders, says Suresh Kumar

BJP has been a divided lot in MP though the central leadership has ensured that the differences among the leaders do not harm the party.

With Nandkumar Singh Chauhan completing three-year tenure as state president in the office, speculation are on rife that BJP in Madhya Pradesh will soon have a new state head after party president Amit Shah's 110-day organisational tour across the country.

"No other government could have taken decision on GST, demonetisation". The BJP President began his visit with inaugurating a statue of Pundit Deendayal Upadhyay in Bhopal. Shah is likely to discuss the poll results with BJP office-bearers, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and central leaders associated with the state.

In another development, the Congress is learnt to have formed a team of former police officers, social and RTI activists to dig in to the scandals of BJP leaders, especially of Mr. Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Shobha Karandlaje, and K.S. Eshwarappa to counter the campaign launched by the BJP.

A large number of BJP workers, many of them sporting saffron turbans, led Shah's entourage to the state party office.

Shah focused his almost one-hour-long speech on comparative study regarding why BJP was better than other political parties that according to him are mostly dynastic.

At a time when the Congress was at its peak, people like Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and some RSS leaders realised this and founded the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, which eventually led to the formation of BJP, that has now over 11 crore members, becoming the world's largest political party, he said. He had lunch at the house of state minister Narottam Mishra and interacted informally with senior journalists.

The party will also work to win all the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2019 general election, he said.

The Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, where the BJP is in power for over a decade, are due in end-2018.
