Star Wars Battlefront 2 Receives Starfighter Assault Gameplay Trailer

The more we see from Star Wars Battlefront II, the more it looks like EA is really trying to listen to player feedback.

On top of a new story mode, Star Wars: Battlefront II is bringing back Starfighter Assault, a seperate mode of play that allows gamers to hop into a starfighter and participate in epic/iconic battles. Players will be able to take part in battles set across different locations from all three cinematic Star Wars eras.

The space fights for Battlefront II are being made by Criterion - the same developer who created the first Battlefront's side title, Rogue One VR mission, which rolled out past year.

We'll be at Gamescom this week, and will share our impressions of the new mode with you, so stay tuned. What you get to see in the trailer is not the gameplay but it was captured in-engine. Fans can expect more official details regarding the title next week as EA hosts a live demonstration of Starfighter Assault mode during Gamescom.

As a massive Star Wars fan - so much so I even defend the Prequels - I'm all kinds of pumped for Battlefront 2. Other EA-owned studios, DICE and Motive, are also working on the development of the game. Unlike the 2015 original, Battlefront II has a campaign, which Motive is developing. A public beta of the game is scheduled to run from October 4-9.
