Bad behavior will get you silenced in Overwatch on Xbox One

Bad behavior will get you silenced in Overwatch on Xbox One

After reports of nearly half a million Overwatch players being disciplined, coupling with the fact that it's slowing down actual development on the game, Blizzard has announced the changes that will be rolling out in the next patch.

Although Junkertown is now available on live Overwatch servers, the Competitive Play release will take longer. But when push comes to shove, the team would prefer to simply ban the worst-acting players from the game entirely rather than filter them into games reserved for bullies and malcontents.

Blizzard first teased the Junkertown update for "Overwatch" at Gamescom in Berlin last August. By piggybacking off of Xbox Live's reputation system, Overwatch now bars players with an "Avoid Me" ranking from participating in voice chat. The vast majority of those cases were a result of the in-game report feature, but it is worth noting that neither PlayStation 4 nor Xbox One players could report bad behavior up until a few weeks ago. In addition, the character selection screen will no longer appear in the mode of Mystery Heroes. It's probably best to dump the bad lot into their own area than have them ruining the game for others. Her meter now drains twice as fast, making improper usage far more punishing for both her and her team. However, she gains a new ability called Micro Missiles which she can use any time. Mercy has a new ultimate ability: Valkyrie, which gives her unlimited flight and infinite ammo.

You can read the full patch notes over on the Overwatch blog. When using his Barrier Field, holding down the primary fire button allows the player to turn the camera, allowing them to look at different angles of the battlefield without having to move the facing of the barrier.
