Does Wilshere need to leave to make the World Cup?

However, Wenger has insisted that Wilshere does not have to leave North London in order to feature at next summer's World Cup, claiming that the player is beginning to play to his full potential.

And now according to The Times, Wilshere is giving serious thought to his Emirates future with a World Cup next summer.

"If you look at the numbers after the game, I've been out for four months but I'm not the one who hasn't ran the most".

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's trip to Watford on Saturday, Wenger said: "I believe that Jack at the moment is in the best form I have seen him for a long time".

When Wilshere sought a loan spell to prove his fitness last season, Sampdoria were the only Serie A side to show a genuine interest in Eddie Howe's watchful eye at Bournemouth.

"He is very close now to being considered, like anyone else".

"If he keeps going like he is going then I think he will go to the World Cup".

"I don't see Jack being fully fit and not going to the World Cup".

Wilshere has 34 England caps to his name, but has not played for the Three Lions since the European Championship last year and has not been part of a squad since November last year.

His early career has been devastated by injuries but every flicker of form commands attention because of a lack of genuine midfield options available to England boss Gareth Southgate.

Limited to a substitute's role in the Europa League against Cologne and two starts against Doncaster and Bate Borisov in the cups, Wenger seems reluctant to trust Wilshere. He can open spaces, he can play in tight areas and he can get out of tight areas as well'.
