Injury boost: Arsenal defender fit to take on Watford

Injury boost: Arsenal defender fit to take on Watford

"We've lost Mustafi for about four to six weeks", Wenger told reporters on Thursday.

It means Mustafi isn't expected to be available before the November global break and will therefore miss Arsenal's next seven games including Premier League fixtures against Watford, Everton, Swansea and Manchester City.

Wenger also revealed Sead Kolasinac, who was taken after 45 minutes of Bosnia and Herzegovina's 2-1 win over Estonia on Tuesday, is a doubt for Saturday's visit to Watford with a hip injury.

"Koscielny has a definite final test tomorrow", Wenger added. Sanchez won't be back with us until tomorrow.

The Italian-owned side are seriously impressing this season, and will pose a tough task for our boys, despite our top form coming into the match.

"He didn't play in their first game and we lost him in the second - we have to cope with that now".

"I didn't expect him to play and Germany had already qualified so their matches would have been less intense".

While Wenger has concerns at the back, he is at least boosted by the return to fitness of Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil who are both in his squad for Saturday's game.

The Gunners will keep a close eye on forward Alexis Sanchez as he has had a long trek back to London following Chile's final World Cup qualifier against Brazil, which saw them lose 3-0 in Sao Paulo and miss out on a place in Russian Federation next summer as a result.

Our lack of defensive experience could well pose as a problem however, with Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, Nacho Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Sead Kolasinac and Mo Elneny our only available stars for the three central roles and left-sided wing-back role.
