Rohr Insists On Strong Super Eagles Squad Vs Algeria

Erstwhile Super Eagles captain, Austin "Jay Jay" Okocha, has stated in clear terms that Nigeria look good enough to send shock waves around the globe with scintillating showing when the 2018 FIFA World Cup gets underway in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

"To me, that match is irrelevant".

"At the beginning of the qualifying series, many people said we were going to be chased out". NFF officials should start putting heads together now for a successful participation of the team at the World Cup.

Nigeria qualified with a game to spare from Group B, finishing above reigning African champions Cameroon, an Algerian squad which impressed at the 2014 World Cup and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winners, Zambia.

"Now, we should be talking about Grade A worldwide friendly matches for the team to put the players in shape and not just any friendly matches".

Ogba further stressed wherever the Super Eagles will train ahead of the World Cup will be a strict decision of the NFF, adding that the important thing is for the football bosses to do their homework very well in terms of budgeting.

"That match was a big wake-up call for us".

"We should be looking at how we can improve from the country's past records at the World Cup". Age is but a number.

Super Eagles last match in the on-going qualifying series will be against Fennecs of Algeria next month but it's a mere formality but the NFF has assured Nigerians that the team needed the tie to improve its monthly Federation Internationale de Football Association ranking to be released before the draw ceremony in December.
