Tesla recalls 11000 Tesla Model X SUVs

The California company says that the recall affects Model Xs fitted with a flat-folding second row that were built between October 26, 2016, and August 16, 2017.

Tesla has announced that it's voluntarily recalling 11,000 Model X SUVs worldwide, because the rear row of seats might not lock into place in the event of a crash.

Tesla said it noticed the issue during recent internal testing.

Thankfully, the fix is easy: Just take your Model X into a service center or use Tesla's mobile repair service and a technician will adjust the cable correctly, which takes all of 10 minutes.

Tesla has sent letters to its customers who buy a brand vehicle Model X, putting fault that must be corrected.

Bad news for Tesla Model X owners: you might have to spend a little time without your auto. Investors' main concern with Tesla's overall plan is how quickly the company is ramping up production, without all the layers of testing that conventional automakers go through on vehicles. It added that there had been no reported issues or accidents related to the problem.

Tesla said some cables in the seat may have been improperly tightened, which prevents the left seat from locking in an upright position.

There's likely to be little overlap with Model Xs that were recalled in April over a sticky parking brake.

"Until then, there is no issue with continuing to drive your Model X", Tesla wrote in the email.
